Charlotte Hornets Heroes Gala
I was commissioned by the Charlotte Hornets to create a set of custom jerseys for their 2025 Heroes Gala, where the pieces were auctioned off while spotlighting the team’s four rookies. Each one-of-one jersey blends elements from the player’s college program—colors, typography, and iconic motifs—with the Charlotte Hornets’ visual identity.
Ryan Kalkbrenner (Creighton): Creighton’s signature blue tones and typography, reinterpreted within a Hornets framework. Featuring Creighton’s St. John's Parish framing the numbers on the back of the jersey.
Kon Knueppel & Sion James (Duke): Duke’s classic Old English/Gothic typography paired with a custom hybrid logo combining the Blue Devil head with the Hornets body.
Liam McNeeley (UConn): An alternate take on UConn’s 2012 Ramstein Air Base snow camo design using the program’s navy and red colorway, adapted to a Hornets-inspired layout. Featuring husky paw prints extending onto back of the jersey.
The final collection is cohesive yet individualized, celebrating each rookie’s transition from college to the NBA.
